In August, Sister Cities Association of Palatine hosted the Mayor of Fontenay-le-Comte and his family in style with a whirlwind of activities in Palatine and Chicago. Our members organized informative tours of Palatine institutions including Village Hall, Police Headquarters, Rotary Club, and Northwest Community Hospital. In a special Village of Palatine council meeting on August 20, the Mayor of Fontenay spoke and exchanged flags with the Mayor of Palatine. We also hosted our guests on trips to the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Field Museum as well as to football and baseball games. The visit concluded with a wonderful American-style picnic dinner at Twin Lakes in Palatine. Bon voyage!
