Sunday, March 9 - Cooking Demonstration with Chef Patrick Chabert

Four-course French meal:

• appetizer - Lobster surprise, presented in a mushroom sauce inside a phyllo dough
• entrée - Rack of lamb with ratatouille
• salad / cheese plate - Salad with three-cheese plate
• dessert - Crème caramel with a fruit soup

Chef Patrick will demonstrate the preparation and cooking of two courses. Guests provide their own beverages; coffee will be served after the meal.

M. Chabert is a 4th generation chef of French cuisine, born and raised near the southern Alps of France. He has worked in two- and three-star Michelin restaurants in France. He emigrated to the US when Jean Banchet of Le Français, in Wheeling, hired him as his direct assistant. He worked at this famous restaurant for 15 years and closed out his restaurant career working as the sous-chef to Roland Liccioni, the new owner. He now does home catering, private and public dinners, preparation for French restaurants in the Chicago area and leads gastronomic trips to France.
